Q: What are Super User custom book lists?

A: Custom book lists are curated reading lists you build from the Book Taco catalog. As a Super User, any list you create is visible at the global level — every student linked to your account will see your lists under a dedicated Super User Lists dropdown in their Manage Books page, separate from their teacher's own lists.

Q: Where do I manage my book lists?

A: Go to your Super User Panel and click Manage Books in the sidebar. Then open the Book Lists tab. You'll see a card grid showing all your lists. Each card displays a fan-style preview of up to three book covers and the total number of books in the list.

Q: How do I create a new book list?

A: There are two ways to create a list:

  • From the Book Search tab: search for a title, then use the Current book list dropdown to select an existing list or click New list to create one on the spot and add the book to it.
  • From the Top 100 tab: browse the Top 100 catalog and use the same list selector or New list button to assign books to a list.

Q: What can I do with a list after I create it?

A: Each list card in the Book Lists tab offers four actions:

  • View — open the list and see all books inside it.
  • Print — export the list as a PDF.
  • Rename — click the pencil icon next to the list name to edit it inline.
  • Delete — permanently remove the list.

Q: How do students see my lists?

A: Students find your lists under the Super User Lists dropdown in their Manage Books page, separate from their teacher's own lists. They can browse any book in the list and add it to their personal reading queue. Note that books from Super User lists cannot be archived by students.

Q: Can I link a book list to a contest?

A: Yes. When creating a Super User contest, you can attach one of your custom book lists to it. Students participating in that contest will see the linked list's books displayed in a carousel directly on the contest details page, making it easy to start the required reading activities.

Q: What is the difference between a Super User list and a teacher list?

A: The key difference is scope. A teacher list is visible only to that teacher's own students. A Super User list is created at the global level and is visible to all students across every teacher linked to your Super User account. Both list types appear in each student's Manage Books page, grouped separately so students always know the source.
