A: Student badges are visual achievements awarded automatically when you reach reading milestones in Book Taco. There is nothing to claim — as soon as you hit a threshold, the badge is yours and a notification appears on screen to celebrate.
Badges are a way to track your growth as a reader. The more you read, log time, and complete album pages, the more badges you unlock.
How to earn badges
- Badges are earned by hitting thresholds in three areas:
- Reading time — log enough total reading time. Each badge in this category shows how many hours or minutes you need to reach.
- Books read — finish enough books. Each badge has a specific book count threshold.
- Album pages — complete enough album pages. Album pages fill up as you read more books.
Book Taco checks your progress automatically and awards the badge as soon as you meet the requirement.
Where to find your badges
- Go to Badges in the sidebar. The page is divided into two sections: Badges I have earned and Available badges to be claimed.
- Earned badges show the date you unlocked them.
- Available badges appear in greyscale. Click any locked badge to see exactly what you need to do to earn it.
Comparing with classmates
- Each badge shows a percentage indicating how many students in your class have also earned it.
- A 0% means you could be the first in your class to unlock it.
