When your Super User creates a contest that includes your classroom, the contest appears in your Contests list and has its own monitor page. The layout is the same as a contest you create yourself, but a few actions work differently because the Super User manages the contest lifecycle.
Step 1: Open the contest monitor
- Go to Teacher Panel → Contests and click the contest. Super User contests are identified by a SUPER USER badge next to the contest name and status.
- The monitor shows the contest cover banner, the contest name, the status badge (Active, Closed, or Finished), and the date range.
The Close contest and Reopen contest buttons are not available for Super User contests. Only the Super User can open and close the contest for all classrooms.
Step 2: The summary cards
- The cards at the top show the contest's key details for your classroom:
- Goal — the target number and the metric (for example, Book Quizzes or Page Count).
- Goal type — Individual Totals or Classroom Totals.
- Days — the total duration of the contest.
- Remaining days / hours — time left. The card turns yellow when 7 or fewer days remain and red on the last day.
- Total Achieved / Success Rate — how your class is doing against the goal in real time.
- If the contest was set up with a specific book list, a Books That Count Toward This Contest carousel appears below the cards. Only books from that list count toward students' totals.
- The Contest Progress Period bar below shows what percentage of the contest's time has elapsed.
Step 3: Your students' results
- The results table shows all students in your classroom. Each row displays:
- The student's metric total vs. the goal (for example, 7 / 10) and their percentage of progress.
- An Attained Goal badge (Yes / No) for individual contests.
- A Details button that opens the list of books that contributed to the student's total, with submission dates and individual totals.
- A No activity badge for students who have not contributed anything yet.
- A class summary below the table shows the combined total vs. the goal (classroom type) or the number of students who reached the goal (individual type).
Step 4: Pick winners when the contest closes
- When the Super User closes the contest, its status changes to Closed and checkboxes appear next to each student in your table. Students who reached the goal are pre-selected automatically — you can adjust the selection before confirming.
- Fill in the Winner Message field at the bottom of the page — a short note your winners will see in their student notifications.
- Click Confirm selected students as contest winners to finalize your classroom's winners. If no students met the requirements, click Finalize without winners instead.
Each teacher finalizes winners independently for their own classroom. You do not need to wait for other teachers to finish before confirming your own winners.
Step 5: Export your results
- Use the Export resultsbuttons in the top-right toolbar to download your classroom's data:
- CSV — opens in Excel or any spreadsheet app.
- PDF — generates a formatted report with the contest name, date range, goal, goal type, and results table.
