Resource Teachers are accounts you create for specialists — such as reading coaches or interventionists — who need to view student reports without having full administrative access. You control exactly which classrooms, students, and report types each Resource Teacher can see.
Step 1: Open Resource Teachers
Go to Super User Panel → Resource Teachers and click Add new resource teacher.
Step 2: Fill in the account details
Enter the Resource Teacher's personal and login information:
- First Name and Last Name (required).
- Email (required) — this will be the Resource Teacher's login email and the address where their welcome message is sent.
- Password — set a temporary password the Resource Teacher will use to log in for the first time.
Step 3: Assign teachers, students, and reports
The Assign Students to Resource Teachers section lists all the teachers in your account. For each teacher you want to grant access to:
- Check the checkbox next to the teacher's name to include them.
- Click the teacher row to expand their settings and configure two things:
- Reports — choose which report types the Resource Teacher can view for this classroom. Use Select All Reports to enable everything, or check individual report types.
- Students — choose which students in that classroom are visible. Use Select All Students to grant access to the full roster, or check individual students by name or username.
Use the Search by teacher and Search by student fields to find specific names quickly in larger accounts. Click Select All Teachers to check every teacher at once.
If the Resource Teacher works with the same students across multiple classrooms, expand each teacher separately and select only the students that person supports — this keeps their view focused and relevant.
Step 4: Save and share login details
Click Save. Book Taco automatically sends a welcome email to the Resource Teacher's address with their login credentials and your name as the Super User who created the account.
The Resource Teacher logs in at the Book Taco login page using their email and the password you set. After logging in, they will see only the teachers, students, and report types you assigned — nothing else.
You can enable or disable a Resource Teacher account at any time from the Resource Teachers list using the active/inactive toggle, without deleting the account or losing its settings.
