What to Do When a Book Doesn't Have a Quiz in Book Taco

If a book doesn't have an official Book Taco quiz, you have two options: create your own quiz for immediate use, or request the Book Taco team to create one. Both options give you accountability for student reading.

Option 1: Create your own quiz

You can write your own quiz questions for any book and submit them for approval. Once approved, your quiz will be ready within 24 hours and available for your students to take.

How to create a quiz:

1. Find the book in Book Taco Library.
2. On the book details page, you'll see "This book does not have a quiz."
3. Click "Create a Quiz".

4. You'll be taken to a quiz creation form for that specific book.
5. Write your comprehension questions based on the book's content.
6. Submit your quiz for approval.
7. Within 24 hours, your quiz will be approved and live for students to take.

Best for: Teachers who need a quiz immediately, want full control over the questions, or have specific learning objectives for their class.

Option 2: Request quiz creation

Instead of creating your own quiz, you can request that the Book Taco team create an official quiz for that title. Your request becomes a "vote" — the more teachers voting for a quiz, the faster the Book Taco team prioritizes it.

How to request a quiz:

1. Find the book in Book Taco Library.
2. On the book details page, you'll see "This book does not have a quiz."
3. Click "Request Quiz Creation".
4. Your vote is added. The more votes a title gets, the higher priority it becomes for the Book Taco team to create an official quiz.

Best for: Teachers who prefer official Book Taco quizzes, don't have time to create their own, or want a high-quality vetted quiz.
